Bread Bowl Chili

Bread Bowl Chili

Ingredients
  • One large Round bread loaf
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper
  • 12 ounces of lean ground beef2 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 2 medium yellow onions (chopped about 2 cups)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper( chopped)
  • 13 tablespoon of chili
  • crushed pepper
  • 1 can and 1/4 of whole tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of tomato paste
  • 1 can of kidney beans ,drain and rinsed
  • 1 can (7 ounces) whole kernel corn I use the green guy can so it make it a bit more spicy
Making bread bowl
  1. Using a serrated knife slice off about an inch from the top of the bread
  2. carve out a "bowl" from within the bread, living about an inch inside
Making the chili
  1. To chop jalapeño pepper avoid touching the seeds if you don't like it so hot spicy you can always run water and get the seeds out)
  2. In same skillet heat oil or butter if you don't like the flavor of olive oil (is not a sin and you will not be any less good cook if you don't like it)add onions; cook, stirring for 5 minutes then bell pepper then jalapeño pepper add chili powder and pepper; cook, stirring for another 5 minutes let it simmer on low fire.
  3. While you wait for it to simmer put your meat and browned in a skillet then drain the fat.
  4. Mix both preparations together and add the tomato can and paste also put my corn and got all to boil then let it simmer till tomato shape is gone add the kidney beans and let it simmer some more .Lets put it like this salsa or all that take bunch of veggies together it taste better the longer it cooks together.
  5. Once you are ready to feed the crowd put the mix into the bread and serve immediately!
  6. and even I didn't go by the letter on this it taste like heaven just right
  7. Note:I went green like i always do with the recipe I don't like to use out of a can products I try at lest to do the frozen kids but I understand some moms are working and taking care of kids and they just cant afford to do it all so i posted the recipe with canned products and already made bread I make my own bread if someone is interested I can post the recipe will not look as good that the perfectly round store bought but you will know what is in it no yuck smuck!
